Silent HSF for 9800XT ?

Are there any silent or quiet heat sink and/ or fan for the 9800XT cards?

Whats wrong with the stock one? Its no louder than the fans on other
slower cards (in the ones I've seen anyhow) and in most PCs chances are
its drowned out by the noise of the PSU/CPU/case fans.

You just trying for a totally/virtually silent machine?

I have seen this but they dont say if it will fit the 9800XT and only give
dimensions. I do not have the 9800XT yet to measure. Have you checked to see
if it will work on the 9800XT?

Most graphics card fans are loud IMO, even the slower cards with fans. I
have a very quiet PSU,case fan (only one) and put a quiet 92mm fan on my P4
CPU and an Arctic Cooler Silencer on the GeForce 3. The PC is very quiet
(but not virtually silent) and I usually play games with headphones so I
dont disturb the wife. ;)
I am trying to get performance without the noise.

not yet, the default HSF covers the entire card front and back as it is, to
remove it all will be a dedicated task that I cant go back on. but
considering that the 9800xt is just an upgraded 9500/9700 it should fit.

Even with the headphones I still get caught up in the game and say things
out loud:)

hi, I just installed the zalman on my 9800xt, it brought the temp down 10'c
from 70 to 58'c

Those 10° C more were with stock cooling ? Amazing. Especially since the
official recommendation for the Zalman silent HSF is to use a fan blowing
over the AGP slot with 9800 XTs and Pros.

I took the default gpu fan and turned it on the side where the zalman fan
normally sits (I didn't get the official one), and a case fan sitting over
the pci slots aiming at the zalman. but that fan was there on the default
setup.
