I have posted an Access database and some associated Word and Excel
support files for running a silent auction at http://freeauctionsoftware.googlepages.com.
It's not totally free in that I am looking for donations to the PTL
(Parent Teacher League) at my sons' school.

I've put quite a bit of time into this and I'm also looking for some
feedback.

I apologize for the promotional nature of this post, but hey -- it's
for charity :).

You have done an admirable job in developing a simple yet elegant database.

I have been altering your database to use in a silent auction for a non-profit group. Somehow, I have messed up the code so that the Donor ID is not transferring correctly from the Items form to the Donor form.

Is it possible for me to send my database to you to look at the code to see how I have messed up? I would be most appreciative for some help.

Mary,

Chances are that you should have posted your response as a followup to the
original post (which you did quote... more than is often the case) or,
perhaps, sent it by email to the original author (from your quoted material,
that would seem to be John Bell). What you did was post, in a new,
unrelated thread, your message that seems to be intended as an email or at
the very least, a followup to the original post. When you post in this, the
comp.databases.ms-access, it is displayed to tens of thousands (at least)
all over the world.

Regards,

Larry

Mary,

I have a Silent Auction Database that I set up using Access 2007. If you
would like review this database, email (e-mail address removed) and I will send
you this database. It is a full working copy at no charge that you can modify
if needed.
