Even though Windows Defender said that the new signature file was
successfully installed, the main Windows Defender screen showed
the signature version as 1.13.1286.1. I had to manually delete the
signature file, and perform a manual update so as to get Windows
Defender show the correct signature file on the main screen.
Given all of the update problems posted by beta testers, it seems
reasonable to wonder whether Windows Defender did really update
the signature file properly or not.
Why is this thing called (Beta 2) while it is a very big backward
step from (Beta 1)?
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1186.0
Signature Version: 1.14.1288.5
