Why is it when that Microsoft did all of this work to update windows that
they never updated Windows mail with the capability of being able to create
signatures? I mean in the way that you can with Outlook. All you get in
Windows Mail as with Outlook Express is a BORING text file or BORING text
inserted in to the message.

Elementary, my dear Watson.
Windows Mail (and OE before it) was meant to be a bottom-of-the-line
no-frills freebie, so as not to distract from sales of Outlook.

Each to his own, but personally I feel that messages are meant to inform,
not to entertain.

There is plenty of room for both. OE stationery came out long before
Outlook stuff. And one can still do much more with OE / WinMail than with
Outlook, if one knows how.

You can create signatures. You have been able to since OE4? What is the
problem?

How do you create HTML files in OE4 and Windows Mail? By the way your response was quite RUDE

Hi,

I was not attempting to be rude at all. I regret that you interpreted my attempt to assist as such.

All you have to is create an HTML file in Notepad and then put in the relevant information and then you can have an HTML signature that is better or equal than what Outlook can do. You can also exceed Outlook with WinMail and OE in terms of the creativity that can be achieved with the specific HTML.

cheers,

steve
