Hi,
I have one person who cannot get a clean signature block. It looks perfect
when it is created or edited. But when it is used, it always starts with
I have tried all types of ways to make the signature block. Even if I
create a blank signature block we get the same problem when the signature is
inserted into the new emails. Does anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks very much,
Gwen Powell

I always edit the html file directly, it's in documents and settings /
username / application data / microsoft / signatures

Thanks,
That is perfect for me.

Hi,
Editing the htm worked the first time. But, when they changed the signature
line and the characters returned, it is not resolving the problem. I have
edited the htm code to no avail. I have tried it with Outlook closed, I have
tried using Word as the editor (big mistake), restored, etc. Now, once
again, I am at wit's end. The user just live with it instead of re-stalling
his system.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Gwen

I have a user with this problem, it just came up when they went in to edit
their signature and the same exact characters are appearing (). I tried to
edit the signature file within outlook, outside of outlook, using Advanced
Edit and nothing worked. I would appreciate any other ideas.

That was one of the things that I did try. I deleted any signatures and
created a new signature; I just typed in the user's name. It still had the
characters.

that indicates a unicode font issue - I'd try a new signature and use only
letters and numbers - no dashes, hyphens, quotes etc.

That appears to be the problem, now I just need to figure out how and where
to fix it.
