Sig updated even though Installer said it didn't

1.14.1358.2 downloaded and after install was complete it said it "was NOT a
successful install".

I then opened WD and it showed 1.14.1358.2 WAS installed. (?)
 
I'd be a little skeptical. Was this via Windows Update?

If you go back, is it offered again?

If you go in via Windows Defender, help, about, check for updates--does it
say you are up to date?

If you don't get re-offered, I think you are probably fine--if you do get it
offered again, you may need to go through the KB 915105 steps before it will
properly install.
 
Going through WD, Help, About, Check for Updates ... it says there's nothing
new.

I got the update because I saw the gold shield in the system tray ... but
then it went away before it was finished, so I clicked on Tools, Windows
Update and downloaded and installed it. The wizard said it was NOT a
successful install, and it shows up in the Update log as an automatic update.

So MAYBE my manual update DIDN'T work and the automatic update (that was
invisible) DID. (?)

Looks that way to me--Have you looked at \windows\windowsupdate.log?

I think it logs both WindowsUpdate and AutoUpdate--so they should both be in
there--perhaps intermixed.
