sidewinder does not work for fury 3 sys xp home

just received joystick and it does not work for fury 3
game keyboard does seen other answer posted about dos
drivers ect, and there web sites been there haven't a
clue as to get this thing working computer illiterate to
say the least it works fine with flight sim 98
