Playing the Spider Solitare game that came w/ the home
edition of windows xp. After the last card is played the
computer locks up. I have to turn off the power to
restart. The game will not save high scores. I tried to
delete the game files and reinstall to no avail.
Thanks, Roger

Go into Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and then click the Add/Remove
Windows Components in the left panel. With Accessories . . . highlighted,
click the Details button. On the next screen, highlight Games and then
click the Details button. Remove the check mark from Spider Solitaire, OK
your way out and the system will remove the game.

Then restart the system. Repeat the steps above, except put a check mark in
the Solitaire box this time around, and again OK your way out. If you still
have problems, take a look at updating your graphics card driver from the
manufacturer's web site. Spider Solitaire is a "system" file in Windows XP.
