OS is Win Home Edition XPSP2. Am trying to install Starfish Sidekick 99 on
a brand new PC and hard drive. When I try to install the \program it goes
immediately to an error that says "this installation has detected that a
previous installation or un-installation requires you to restart your
computer." What can I do to get the program to install?. I have restarted
three times but the same error message pops up. Thanks in advance.

Lavert, is Sidekick 99 even supported in WinXP, let alone WinXP SP2? My
research indicates Intellisync bought-out Starfish Software some time ago
and there's no mention of Sidekick on their website:
http://www.intellisync.com/.

Might you have an Intellisync app already installed, hence the error?

PA Bear:

Thanks for your reply. I am using Sidekick on a clone computer right now
with OS Win XPSP2.. I have 2nd computer with OS Win98SE and still using
Sidekick. The new computer, a HP build your own, with WinXPSP2 did not
have Sidekick on it so no un-installation has happened. Just received new
computer 11 Nov 05. I have original Sidekick CD and it will still load on
clone computer. I checked Intellisync and don't have any of their products
on any computers.

I have no idea how to help you further on this, Lavert. Sorry. You might
try WinXP General?
