Can someone tell me where I can adjust the opagueness of the sidebar? I would
like to adjust it the same as the folders.

Sidebar transparency is different to the "glass" UI elsewhere. Because.

I ended up just hiding the sidebar and using my gadgets undocked. Once
folks here pointed out that I could hide it. Hehe.

Thanks, I think, for the wonderful replies. Ha!

Now comes the real story. I adjusted it when I first got the box up and
running, now, I cannot remember how I did it. Anyone else know how to do it?
I adjusted it from clear to 20% opagueness, and have gone through everything
looking for that adjustment bar so that I can change it back.

I just checked my VPC Vista, and if you right-click on a Gadget in the
Sidebar, there is an opacity selection that you can set for each Gadget.
Obviously, this has nothing to do with the Glass interface, as it's through
VPC. There also could be a global Sidebar setting if you are using the Glass
interface, but right now, I can't check it.

You can adjust the taskbar transparency (along with the window title bar
transparency), but I'm pretty certain that you can't adjust the sidebar
transparency.

To adjust the glass transparency, you can right-click on the desktop, click
personalize, click Visual Appearance, then use the "Intensity" slider to
control the transparency.

If the sidebar is set to always-on-top, it should have the same appearance
as the taskbar. If you adjust the aero glass 'intensity' as described
below, it should effect the taskbar and sidebar equally.

I personally wish if the Sidebar could keep the opacity when you hover over
the Sidebar frame for the on top mode.
