Everytime I turn on my computer...about 6 minutes later my computer will shut
down in safe mode and I push keys on the keyboard and click the mouse and I
cant get it to stop...so then I have to turn the whole computer off and turn
it back on for it to do ANYTHING and when I turn it off I have to hold the
button down and then wait for it to shut off and turn it back on...then when
I get it back on...about 6 minutes later it does it again...
I have norton antivirus and I updated my virus definitions and I did a live
upday...it said there were 4 things I needed to install so I did...then it
had me restart my computer so I did that as well...it seems like the only
thing I can do to keep my computer from going into safe mode is to scan
something on norton antivirus...
So can ya help???

It sounds as if your computer is going into Standby.

Right click on the desktop, Properties. Go to the Screen Saver tab, monitor
power, Power button. There you will see the Power Schemes. System Standby
is what you are looking for. Adjust to suit. (I have all my settings set
to 'Never' ).

Hey thanks for the help but I did what you asked and it was already set to
never.... anything else I can do???

How long has your pc been doing this for? Just since updating antivirus?
Do you have any software installed that has the ability to power down the
pc? Have you enabled Hibernation at all?

It's been doing this for about 4 days..it started before i updated my virus
definitions and stuff...i dont think i have that software and i dont know
what that hibernation is.... im not good with computers
