Every time I shutdown or reboot, the PC gets hung during the shutting down
procedure.

More specifically the system states that "Win Min" is not responding. This
then affects my cable modem that needs to be restarted along with the PC.
This happens every time.

What exactly is this "Win Min"; virus, spy-ware? ..and how do I fix the
problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all do you have any files in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

MSupdate and winlogon are known to cause this behavior.

1.)Delete any unwanted favorites from IE, set your homepage back to what it should be (if its changed).
2.)Drag msupdate and winlogon to the desktop as you will find that you are unable to delete them from their current location because they are currently in use.
3.)Reboot and delete them from the desktop.
4.)Reboot again, you should now be free of any win min problems.

I can not change the homepage, it always comes back to
http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm when I reboot. Any ideas how this can be
fixed?

Thanks, again.
