Hi Brian,
Windows XP has a command-line utility called shutdown.exe. for exact
parameters, open a MS-DOS box and type "Shutdown /?"
To create the shutdown shortcut:
Right-click on your desktop and select New / Shortcut. You will see the
Create Shortcut wizard. In the field labeled Type location of the item enter
the following command:
"Shutdown -s -t 0"
Click Next. Enter a name for the shortcut, e.g. Quick Shutdown. Click
Finish.
Related Tip:
Visit
www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm if you want to download the
shutdown utility (different from that of XP) which supports power management
feature.

I saw a tip on how to configure XPHE to shutdown via an
icon button. I configured it, and it worked great, but
after running system restore, I lost the shutdown button
and I don't remember how to re-configure it. Do you know
how?
