My terminology is a little rough around the edges, so please bear with me
I have clean installed XP on a very bland desktop (that is, has barely the essentials), and I have run into a problem with powering down the system. The power button (which I believe is referred to as being "Smart") does not power down the system when I press it either while XP is in operation, or while the system has loaded the "It is now safe to turn off your computer screen.
I can turn off the power by holding down the power button for three seconds, but then it eventually decides to power itself back up. I'm wondering if there is a way I can make XP (or whatever in the system determines how this button interacts with XP) recognize that this is my signal for the computer to shut off
Thanks for any help you may have to offer
