Shutdown

I am running Tapeware backup software and need to shutdown
the server after the backup jobs complete. I have had the
suggestioin to use 'shutdown.exe' but this seems a hit or
mss afair. I neee something more reliable - anysuggestions?

shutdown.exe is very reliable when used with the correct switches.

- What switches do you use?
- What error message do you get?
- Have you tried to log any of your error messages? E.g. like so:
shutdown /L /R /T:10 /Y /C 1>c:\shutdown.log 2>c:\shutdown.err
