Shutdown script, applying order ?

If I were to apply a Shutdown script on a local group policy, when would it
run ?

The very last thing before the actually shutdown process ?

The reason I'm asking, is that I'm considering applying a "ipconfig
/release" statement, but it would be somewhat impractical if there are other
network related tasks to complete before shutdown.
Tasks like synchronizing offline files springs to my mind...

The shutdown script will run early in the shutdown process (first perhaps).
I'm not sure why you want to do the ipconfig /release. The computer will
take care of that for you.

Yes, ordinarily the shutdown process will do it, but we have some situations
where it doesn't, and we can't find out what to do about it. But doing a
manual relase of the ip address has been sucessful.
