when i use "remote desktop", every time i want to shut down the remote pc,
windows xp prompts me to confirm the shut down...
Is there any way to avoid this request??
In other words, is there a procedure of "unconditional shutdown" for remote
desktop?

Thanx
Fabrizio

Use the command line tool SHUTDOWN.EXE SHUTDOWN.EXE /? will get you a list of the command line options. Simply create a shortcut to SHUTDOWN.EXE with the command line options you need.

yes, it's reasonable...
but the problem is that i'd like to shut down that pc when i'm not in front
of it.
In other words, that pc has to shut down when it finishes some downloads
(this can happen also in the middle of the night!), and the program i'm
using to download (winmx) has a function that is useful to shutdown... but
not to "unconditional shutdown"!!
So i'd like to continue using this function, but with windows not prompting
me every time to turn off...
Any hint?

You can use shutdown.exe with the appropriate command line switches to turn off a remote computer as well. Open a Command Prompt window and enter SHUTDOWN /? for the command line options.
