I have a question that I'm sure that someone here can answer.
I'm running XP-Pro SP1 with all additional OS updates and all application
software updates in place. I run Zona Alarm firewall, and Grisoft's AVG
anti-virus software.
This seems like a slick system and everything runs flawlessly until I
select Shutdown or Restart. Just before the screen changes from the normal
desktop to the window "Shutting Down Windows" appears, I see one, or
sometimes two, small windows flash on the screen which go by so fast I
can't read them. One looks similar to the little window that appears when
an application can't end. The other is also similar to that, but I think I
can make out the word "error" at the top of the window. One of the windows
has a progress bar that zips across, too.
Is there anything I can do to slow down the shutdown so that I can read
these windows, or cause the system to pause at this point?
I'm a nut about things working properly, and even though the operation of
my system while it's in use has absolutely no problems, I would like to
resolve these issues.
TIA
