I bought a KDS laptop with XP Pro (no SPs) on it, about 4 years ago.
Something happened to the innards and I couldn't/didn't use it for a
couple years. When I went to fix it, I couldn't find the two reinstall
CDs that came with it. So a friend loaned me a copy of XP Pro (no SPs)
to see if I could get the computer to work. I did.
I recently found the missing CDs and reinstalled them. The computer
would no longer shut down, from my attempts to "Turn off computer".
Instead it reboots.
I downloaded and installed SP2 and it still does the same thing.
I made several, what appeared to be, good searches using xp pro sp2
"won't shut down" . Been reading for a couple hours and can't seem to
find anything to help.
I'd be grateful if someone could give me some help.
