Hi

since nearly 3 weeks i have a strange problem on two windows 2000 prof workstations

The first one (Athlon XP 1700+), when i shutdown, the power supply fan is still running and i am able to open/close the dvd drive. So it seems that windows is in standby and not power off

The second one (Pentium 200 - yeah really old) is just rebooting when i do a shutdown

Both configurations have not been changed in hardware or bios setup. The only thing that happend was a complete update of windows with SP4 and all other updates from the windows update website

Is there any bug in one of the updates

Thanx in advanc

Hi
Have a similar problem.
I reinstalled windows 2000 with service pack 4.
When I try to shutdown windows the system will power off
automatically just fine.
I then do the windows updates and found so many patches
even do I had SP4 installed, download and install all,
now when I try to shutdown windows it won't power off.
the problem here is not Service Pack 4, I think there is
bug in one of the extra updates.
