Shutdown Computer from Access

There should be an API call at vbnet.mvps.org.

But isn't it something that would be terribly dangerous, since you
couldn't shut down Access in an orderly fashion before shutting down
the computer?

You're right in that I should've asked why he wanted to do such. I
assumed, which is bad of me, that he had a long running process he
wanted to run at the end of the day.

And no I don't think that would be a big deal. The only reason why
Access wouldn't shut down in an orderly fashion would be if it had an
error message of some sort. Which by defection means that Access
isn't doing any MDB file updates so there couldn't be any corruption.

Tony,

You are right. I have a database that runs after I
leave for the day some automatic updates which
just a matter of running some downloads and
importing the downloads and does some massaging.
The process is very stable.

Nobody has showed me how to this yet. I couldn't find anything
on the links that were given. Any ideas?
