shut down on its own

I just bought my pc , and in the middle of doing something it will just say going to sleep and shut off.then says realtek ac 97
so i went to support sight and looked it up..what caused this? said i needed a driver.. but why if its new?

If a newer driver becomes available after your computer was shipped then it would
behoove you to install it. There is a download here

if it is older than the one on the download site.(A3.51)
