Hi folks:

Before the trouble: "Shutdown" would turn off the tower
and the screen.

After the trouble: "Shutdown" makes the screen go blank
with a flahsing cursor in upper left corner, but power to
the tower and screen still ON. By pressing reset, computer
restarts as usual.

I want to shut down completely, however. Any ideas?

Thanks
Paul

The only things I can think of are:

1). The bios/cmos settings for power management and acpi/apm;
2). Start..Settings..Control Panel..Power Options (as admin);
3). Any special drivers that might be needed from your computer
manufacturer for your hardware and chipset, etc..

What was the trouble that came along?

Regards, RobH.
