Shut Down er.. restart?

When I choose the shutdown option, my computer restarts instead.
I have already checked the power settings and administrative options and all
that.
The power buttons and connections are all correct on my board as well. Whats
up?
In the event log it says the previous shut down was unexpected or sometimes
error with shutdown and boot processes.
Does anyone else have the same problems or know what's up
 
i have a similar problem...
on a start menu i dont have icons for shut down and reset, only for log off..
so i cant shut down or reset my computer..
ctrl/alt/del doesnt work because administrator (thats me) disabled this
option (but i didnt).. thats two major problems i guess..can anyone help???
