I am new to windows.
When I look at my list of programs in XP home sp2, I am now on my 4th column
(Start/Programs).
Is there any way to move the vetical divider that seperates the program
listings.
I would like to grab it and move it to the left.
the title of the programs in the 4th column are partially cut off.
Ant suggestion other that uninstall some of the programs.
Thanks

Try arranging all your programs in folders according to the way you
work.
I don't see any columns as I have rearranged my folders to avoid it,
so I don't see your vertical divider that separates the programs.
The easiest way to do this (IMHO) is to right-click the Start button,
select Explore and create folders to suit, the drag the shortcuts to
the appropriate folder.

Thanks for the reply.
I guess that Mr. Edwards thinks that I am working on the desktop for the
folders suggestion.
I guess I wasn't clear in asking my question.
I am looking at the start/ all programs and there is the listings of the
programs on my hardrive.
Seems like the window with the programs listings or the vertical lines that
seperates the names of the programs can be moved over to the left.
Can this be done?
Thanks

I believe Mr. Edwards understood the problem just fine. You can't adjust
the vertical lines on the Start Menu. What you can do is what he
suggested - better organize the items you have in the Start Menu,
including renaming items with long names. This will make less items in
the Start Menu which will make a smaller (less columns) Start Menu.
Some organizing ideas are to make a folder for all graphics and office
programs. If you have an OEM computer (Dell, HP) make a folder for the
OEM and put all OEM-related items inside it. Etc.
