Hi all,

I have an old samsung syncmaster 750s monitor, and every time I turn it off, the
horizontal width defaults back to a particular size.. (nomatter what I set it
to, as soon as I turn it off and back on, it goes back to the default)..

Any ideas on how to tackle this problem ?

Regards,
Chris

Do you turn it off by a power strip or similar which would
cut AC power completely or just using front button on
monitor?

Does that model specifically claim it remembers user presets
(or however they might word it)?

Only by the button on the front.

I don't know if it claims to do so or not, but it does remember everything else,
just not horizontal size..

Perhaps you're using a nonstandard refresh rate? Not
recalling any experience with that particular monitor I'll
shooting in the dark here, but check whether a different
refresh rate makes a difference.

Do you need to turn it off at all? Does the problem occur if you leave
the monitor powered on and simply let power management turning it off?
