Shrink Properties / Spacing

I have a pretty straight forward report, with 2 grouping
levels.

In the details section I have twenty fields in a column -
all with the property "can shrink" set to "Yes".

The problem I have is the report leaves a rather large
space after each record. If I take out the last ten
fields, the spacing sorts itself out and the next record
starts nicely spaced.

I have made sure no fields are overlapping or have any
objects around them.

Any ideas?

You didn't forget to set the detail section's CanShrink
property, did you?

Do you have some white space between the the text boxes? If
so, that empty space will not shrink and will accumulate to
produce a possibly substantial blank area.
