Show track changes but not show editing info

In Word 2000, I want to show my track changes to other
users, but do not want them to see the editing info when
the hover over the change with their mouse. (i.e. author,
when changed and how). I tried to change my options here
so that none were by author but the user info still shows
up. Any way to leave track changes on to show editing with
showing editing info?

Hi Er,

I *think* you can do this by turning off the "AutoComplete"
check box in Tools/AutoCorrect options/AutoText (or
Insert/AutoText/AutoText). Note, however, that this will turn
off tooltips generally, and also that it's installation
profile specific (IOW it won't travel with your document).

If this is a problem, you could perhaps record a macro that
turns it off, named AutoOpen, so that it's turned off when
your document is opened. And another that turns it back on,
named AutoClose, so that it's reactivated.

But macros in documents are always iffy. Most users won't open a document
containing macros; either they'll disable the macros, or (if Security is set
to High) Word will tacitly do it for them.
