Show the day of the week on weekly calendar views

I can't believe that the weekly calendar views do not show the day of the
week - it seems like one of the most obvious requirements of a calendar but
there appears to be no way to get this simple piece of information displayed!
And how about highlighting the current day too?

Monday, Tuesday etc? It's controlled by your computers long date format in
Control panel, regional settings.

The current day is highlighted. What version of Outlook and what windows
theme do you use?

The long date format does indeed fix it - thanks (not very intuitive IMHO).
As for highlighting, I realise that the date bar is highlighted for today but
it would be clearer if you could alter the background colour for the whole of
today.

As for versions, I use Outlook 2003 as part of Office Professional and the
standard XP theme.
