Matt

I recently upgraded to Office 2007. I was playing around with the
configuration with Outlook and came across a setting to show picture
placeholders instead of a picture. I tried that out for a while and it
worked well. Then decided that I didn't like it so I attempted to turn that
setting off. I couldn't remember where it was and looked around for a bit.
I was able to find a setting titled 'Show Picture Placeholders' via the
Editor options when viewing an open email. I unchecked it, and was able to
see the pictures just fine. After closing and opening outlook another day, I
was no longer able to see the pictures and went back to review that setting.
It was magically checked again. So, I unchecked it, was able to view
pictures, then exited, re-opened, and can't see pictures again. Any ideas on
how to fix this permanently. Is there a setting somewhere overriding this
one? Thanks in advance for your help.

This appears to be working now after following these instructions
found on a different forum

The problem appears to be related to an
overlarge temporary file folder.

1. Locate the Outlook Temporary Items folder by opening the Registry
and
locating
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security
\OutlookSecureTempFolder
2. Navigate to the value of this Key. It should be something like:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK3D\ where
OLK3D is
some randomly generated string that always starts with OLK
3. Quit Outlook
4. Delete the contents of the folder
5. Launch Outlook
