In troubleshooting further, I was getting an invalid ENTRYID error, and
found
some other users having the same problem when I searched the forum
here...unfortunately there was no solution as of yet...
The subject in that string was blank contact lines, cannot delete,
properties: when i performed a search for invalid ENTRYID
Thanks.
:
The Outlook 2000 is in corporate/workgroup mode.
I have confirmed the settings as recommended - i have also removed and
readded the service as well as exported the contacts and then removed
the
service, then readded the service and imported the info back, to no
avail.......

Outlook 2000 has two completely separate versions. You must specify
which
mail support mode you are using.
Your description of the problem in Outlook 2003 is idiosyncratic and
has not
been reported. Verify your settings. Make sure the Contacts Folder
you
are
displaying is the default Contacts Folder in your profile, and make
sure
that Contacts Folder has no corrupt or blank entries. Make sure you
have
only one reference to a Contacts Folder in the Outlook Address Book.

I apologize for sounding cryptic:
In 2003 - the contacts show up if i scroll down and to the right -
there
is
a large blank area above the list as if there were multiple blank
contacts
(there aren't)
In 2000 - the contacts do not show up BUT if i start typing in the
Type
Name
or Select field - it populates with a limited amount of contacts.
I have confirmed both settings you mentioned and they are correct
and
already exist.
Thanks.
:
Your post is too unclear with regards to which version you are
asking
about.
It sound more like you simply need to configure the Outlook
Address
Book
to
show the correct Contacts Folder.

You seem to have old, invalid references to Contacts Folders in
your
Outlook
Address Book. Remove them here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change…

When selecting Contacts from the Show Names From drop down when
sending
a
new
email, the list is empty in Outlook 2000 - In 2003, it appears
empty,
but
if
I scroll way down and to the right, a limited number of
contacts
show
up.
How do i change the formatting in 2003 and how do i get it to
show
up
in
2000?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
