Show/Hide text

I have various blocks of text hidden throughout my document.
Sometimes I will want to show a certain block and do a "Save As" to create a
new document with that particular block of text (but not the other hidden
blocks of text) now appearing in the body of the document.

How can I do this?

If I go to Options and click Hidden Text and then copy/paste the (now
showing) block of text into the body, it pastes as hidden text!

If the hidden attribute is applied as direct formatting
(that is, without using styles), simply select the text
and disable the hidden attribute (in the Format>Font
dialog box).

On the other hand, if the attribute comes from a style, it
makes more sense to either create a new style or modify
one of the existing styles not to have hidden text, and
then apply it to the relevant paragraphs.

Assuming you selected the text to be hidden and then went to Format > Font >
Hidden, then you can simply click the "show/hide" button on the toolbar (it
looks like a paragraph mark). This will show all the text that has been
formatted to be "hidden."

Let me know if this helps -------------- Bonnie

Thank you, Stefan.
Your answer was exactly what I was looking for.
I appreciate the fact that you read my post and understood what I wanted to
do.

Thank you again.

Please DON'T type in all caps. It has the emotional impact of SHOUTING!

That button is on the Standard toolbar which is displayed by default.

It looks like a backwards "P" with two vertical strokes instead of one.

If you're not seeing the Show/Hide ¶ button, it may be that you are
displaying the Standard and Formatting toolbars on a single row, so that
there is not room to display all the buttons. If you want to see all the
commands available in Word's menus and toolbars, do the following:

In Word 2000, open Tools | Customize and select the Options tab. Clear the
check boxes for "Menus show recently used items first" and "Standard and
Formatting toolbars share one row."

In Word 2002 or 2003, open Tools | Customize and select the Options tab.
Check the boxes for "Always show full menus" and "Show Standard and
Formatting toolbars on two rows."
