Hello all,

Several have reported the fact that, for those of us who
use a vertical task bar, the alerts scroll up the page and
return and disappear, quickly enough that I have a
difficult time reading them. I assume that this is already
'on the list.'

But I would like to point out that these should also be
logged somewhere, where they can be reviewed later. I have
not found them anywhere, if they currently are. They
should be logged as an event, visible by Event Viewer, as
an Application Event or a Security Event.

I had made this observation on an old thread a few days
ago, and it was rolled out so quickly that I was not sure
that it had been seen. Sorry if this is redundant.

Thanks,
_Scott

Taskbar issue, should possibly on the fix for beta 2, in the mean you can
use the alt-tab xp power toy utility to see the notification if you plan of
keeping the taskbar to the side, also, if information was to be displayed in
the Event viewer, I am guessing MSAS would have to run as a service which it
is not at this time in beta 1.

Hello Andre,

No -- writing events to Event Viewer has nothing to do with
running as a service. Any app can write to the Application
Log.

Thanks again,
_Scott

I never see Word write to the event viewer when there is crash, and MSAS
would have done the same already even before Microsoft acquired it from
GIANT, so, no, not every app can write to event viewer, its usually system
based applications and hardware devices.
