I have a canon i860 and was wondering if I should turn it off when not in
use. I only print a couple of times a week(2-3 pages).

I forgot to mention that I leave my system on 24/7

I have i550 and set it to auto power off, so since i guess i860 must hav
ethis option also, i suggest you do the same - set it to auto power on and
off, so you won't have to worry about it. In this way, when you hit print,
it will come on by itself and whut off after, say, 30 minutes.

It probably won't make much of a difference. Most printers and similar
devices tend to go to sleep after a while. The power difference between
this sleep/standby mode and 'off' is probably minimal, if anything. The
only way to truely save power would be to unplug it.
