What do you think are the 5 main differences between Vista and Hardy Hereon?Adam said:It's a crap shoot. I did, wish I didn't. This is the first time I
installed any Windows Service Pack that afterwards Windows was less,
not more stable and now is more prone to crash. Go figure.
"Cause 5Gordon said:SP1 is not offered by Windows Update usually because you have one or more
conflicting drivers.
There would be no point in manually installing it if that is the case -
you would possibly get into conflicts.

A hardware device driver or device software was problematic when you
updated
to Windows Vista SP1.
The Windows Update service can detect the small set of device drivers and
software that falls into this category. The Windows Update service will
not
offer Windows Vista SP1 until an update for the hardware device driver or
the device software has been installed."
"Problematic" means someone, somewhere had a problem during testing of
SP1.
I have one or two programs that are "problematic" for years now but have
caused no problems for me personally. Are you feeling lucky?

Birk said:Did that already. None of those reasons applies to me.
Actually I have never had any problems with any Vista updates. I do,
however, look at each one and uncheck the ones that do not apply to my
system (like updates for Works or Outlook.)
If you don't have either of those installed, you shouldn't be getting
any updates for them.
