This newsgroup like others is where people post problems so it should
not be unusual to find posts about problems.

Changes to Functionality in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2:

You may or may not need SP-2 today but as time passes, the necessity
for SP-2 may become more important.

Those with a well maintained computer have fewer issues related to
SP-2 than those with neglected computers.

The Service Pack Installation Checklist can help with SP-2
installation:

Yes, I understand the need for this newsgroup...I have recieved help many
times in the past, I am grateful for it... I will check out the links you
provided...thanks...

As someome who has dealt with many SP1 and SP2 issues. No contest...you MUST
upgrade to SP2. There is much more to the overall stablity of the software,
etc.

Not a hard decision and you better hurry before MS stops "giving away" the
SP2 update. They could opt to release it ONLY in Win 2003 or later...do it
now.

Windows XP SP-2 does not apply to Windows 2003 so it will not be released
with Windows 2003.
SP-2 as all other Service Pack will be free forever or at least the
foreseeable future.
If you have information otherwise, please post the source.
