It seems that Microsoft have got a little lost between Windows Defender and
OneCare.
Windows defender appears to be aimed at preventing malware getting on to a
system and hence it should have the enhanced firewall from OneCare. It would
make sense that Microsoft provides Windows Defender as part of the OS, as the
OS should try to prevent a system from becoming infected.
OneCare seems to be detection / clean up programme for Virus, Spyware,
Unneeded files, Registry etc. OneCare would thus be an extra product sold in
competition to the many other similar products.
