Shortening text in a cell

I have a spreadsheet that lists the tooling purchased for my company. I am trying to sort by die number so I can reconcile the list with what is physically in the racks. The problem is that the die numbers all begin with R-. In other words the 1st die is R-1 and the second is R-2. This does not allow the numbers to sort properly. I need to know if there is a way to remove the first 2 digits in the die number cell. Thanks
