Using XP-Pro....We have multiple user's wanting to make a
shortcut Icon on their desktop to their A-drive. Works
for short while - but if they click on the icon and do
not have a disc in - it changes to c:\i386 and makes this
the new default.

Try it otherwise right-click on the desktop click on New->shortcut and choose A drive after creating shortcut right on the icon and in click on proerties in shortcut check the target should be A:\ otherwise you edit it

Hope this help

.
Have tried this - It appears this only happens when the
user clicks on the shortcut and has no disk in the drive.
Instead of asking for a disk - it defaults back to the
default load direatory.... Have contacted the manufacture
(Acer) and they point the finger at MS....
