START - ALL PROGRAMS - PROGRAMS(on my PC at top of screen) - DEFENDER, click
on right-mouse, choos -copy shortcut to desktop.
This is on a Dutch XP PC.
The Defender wizard DID ask for making shortcuts, bus does NOT make them!
Greetings from Holland!

Do you mean the home page of the application? \program files\windows
defender\msascui.exe should do that, I think. Not sure if there's an
argument or switch to make sure it comes up on the home page.

Pleas keep in mind, I have a DUTCH PC, so names are different.
Click on the START button in the leff/downn corner.
Put the mousepointer on:ALL PROGRAMS.
Now is visible, all of the programs a-z.
There is a line with:PROGAMS(no name of applications!)
Put the mousepointer on:PROGRAMS.
Visible is now:DEFENDER.
Click on the right-mouse and select: COPY TO DESKTOP(shortcut)
I've ALSO make a shortcut of SECURITY CENTER on almost thesame procedure.
I hope that it is clear now?!

Thanks. The fact that shortcuts are not properly made in the start menu for
non-English versions of Windows is a known issue, I believe.
