dude

I have shortcut keys for my command buttons but when the App loads it
doesn't show the underlines until you hit the ALT button. Any way to force
this before the ALT is pressed???

Thanks in advance for the info...

I would change the option in the system settings (as described in one of
the referenced articles). This will affect all applications and is IMO
the preferred way.

Yeah, but it won't show up for other users if they have that option off...

If the user would like to see them in /all/ applications, he/she should
check the option to show them.

If you always show the mnemonics, I would include an otpion to turn that
off...

I see your point. It is just a very simple app without menus of any kind and
a user requested the shortcut keys so I wanted them visible by default.

Thanks for the input though, I'll have to consider putting in an options or
settings menu...

Change the system settings. (control panel -> display ->
don't-know-the-tab-name -> Button "effects": uncheck the last option.
