Shortcut and Folder naming Issues

I'm having a problem with using the Ampersand as part of
the folder name on my webpage. As you can see below, the
name of the folder contains an Ampersand but when I click
on the link it comes up with page not found. When I change
the name of the folder and link replacing the Ampersand
with an underscore it works fine. I am also finding this
is happening with other characters such as commas and
percent symbols. I have recently moved the site from a NT
box running IIS 4 to a W2K box running IIS5. Does any one
know what I might do to correct this problem? The website
is quite large so I'd rather find the cause of this
problem and not go manually change every folder and or
link.
Thanks

Don't use illegal URL characters in your folder and file names. This
includes ampersands, spaces, slashes, and punctuation marks.

Big Things are made up of
Lots of Little Things.

The ampersand, space, percent symbol and comma are all illegal characters
when naming files and folders in a web. Legal characters are constrained to
alphanumeric, and the underline (though the hyphen seems to be acceptable).
Some of the illegals have special meanings within a hyperlink - e.g. notice
how spaces are translated to %20, and the ampersand is translated to &?
There is an addin at www.jimcoaddins.com that will remove the spaces for
you, but the rest must be done by hand. FP should change the links as you
rename the folders and files.
