We just got a new computer.
We have windows xp and ms office / word 2003.

We have 5 user names on the front opening screen of
windows xp.

we went into one user name: eddie:
we opened up start, programs, ms office:
there we saw ms word, ms excel. etc..
we clicked on and dragged ms word over to the desktop to
create a shortcut icon.

now here's the problem:
Ms word has disappeard from the start/programs / ms
office menu? how do we put it back?

and two: the icon is only for the 1st name eddie. it
doesn't show on the other 4 user names when we log off
the Eddie user and log on another name? and we can't copy
and paste it from eddie to the other names, nothing
happens.

question 2: how can we get the shortcut icon to appear on
the other user names also.

queston 3: what is the name / path of the start up file
for ms word 2003.

please email me at : (e-mail address removed) with the answers.
thank you very mucy.

Move the Word icon back to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

If you also want to have the Word shortcut icon on any of the 5 users'
desktops, "copy" them to the respective desktops. Do not drag them from the
Start/All Programs menu, as this "moves" them from the All Users Start menu
to the desktop of the user who moved it.

Click on Start/Search/All files and folders. Search for the filename
"winword.exe" to locate the path to MS Word. MS Word usually installs in
the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 folder.

Put the ICON back where you found. Then go to START->All Programs,
locate the icon for WORD and right click, select a send to and you can
now select Shortcut to desktop.
This can be done on all users.
