On only 1 XP new pro computer of many, the shift/ arrow
does not highlight text in several programs running on the
terminal server. Have changed all the settings under
options- is set up identically to other sessions on other
computers on the network that do not have this problem.
Any ideas? Sue A

Try it with the numlock turned on. If that makes it select text
permanenly (without shift key pressed) then you have the same problem
I have. I think a windows update did this to us last week but i'm not
sure which one did it. Hopefully someone out there can figure out
which hotfix caused this...

Oops -- sorry about my thread above on this topic. I thought I searched
diligently but apparently I missed this one. Eek!

Everybody who has this problem, also has an ATI graphics card
installed, am I right?

In that case: right-click on an empty spot on the desktop, select
Properties. Go to Settings -> Advanced -> Options -> switch OFF
"Enable ATI taskbar icon application". Now try remote desktop again...
problem solved :)
This ATI application enables the ATI hot-keys, but in the process also
causes
the problems with the shift-keys in remote desktop sessions.

EUREKA!! It worked!! Thanks!

And just for troubleshooting purposes for other folks -- Yes, I have an ATI
Radeon 9000 Pro.

Thanks again.
