shell.dll error

I saw this topic yesterday, and the concensus was that it
was spyware related. Spybot errors out with an 'error
during check' xabot.

This problem is killing my main application

I have run each of these spyware programs: adaware,
spybot, kill2me, cwshredder and hijackthis

When I launch the app. I get a cannot find shell.dll
dialogue box 3 or four times then a memory error.

Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED

Hi,
shell.dlll is located under c:\windows\system folder and one in the
c:\windows\system32 folder.Check there.

I am having the same problem ..
I fix it by copying shell.dll from c:\windows\system32\dllcache directory to c:\windows\system32 directory.
However, after awhile, shell.dll got deleted ...again and again ...
Any one has any idea?
I run virus scan, spyware programs ..and everything is clean....
Am I missing any things?

If it gets deleted from system32 then system file protection ought to
restore it - instantly - from the dllcache. This sounds to me as if you
have some malware that the spyware programs you ran has not picked up.

clearance programs linked from that; especially CWShredder.
