Right click on the tab and choose tab color. I think XL2000 was the first
version with this feature.

It was XL2002. Before that, it can't be done.

Hi Michael!

This was the earth shattering upgrade introduced in Excel 2002. Having
said that, I do use it on occasions and I only tend to use colour very
sparingly.
