sharring HP LaserJet 1000 with XP clients

I am sharing a HP LJ1000 on a small workgroup. The 2K
clients work fine but the XP clients do not. Can I
install a second Printer (using same LJ 1000 on a USB
port) with a driver that can work with the XP machines
while leaving the existing printer setup to that same
port? Or is there another way to get it to work?
 
Open the properties on your printer, then the sharing
tab, and look for a button that says "additional drivers"

That should let you install the XP drivers on your PC.
