Sharon,
Thank you for your info on posting..Tried to send you e-mail but kept
getting it back..You told me to check the server SPA..how do I get to the
SPA?..could you lead me thru the instructions you told me last time

In Outlook Express, use Tools> Accounts. Select the news account and then
Properties. You'll see a box for "log on with secure password
authentication." Uncheck it.

Also on the Advanced page is a setting for SSL. Very few news servers
require this box to be checked to use or post in their newsgroups. I've
never run into them anyhow and have subscribed to several news services
that do require user name and password.
