How do I set up my computer this way?---
I have 2 users setup on this computer, Mine & Guest.
How do I deny access to all PROGRAMS (not just Docs, Favs,
etc.) in the Guest user profile?
In other words, I'd like the kids to have NO ACCESS to any
program files, system files, that I want to deny access to.
Basically would like 2 SEPARATE computers on ONE. Thanks
much.

Hi,

Go to www.dougknox.com and check the utilities section for the Security
Console Doug has developed for just this sort of thing.

But is there no way within XP itself to prevent Guest Account from accessing "My Computer" where other peoples' (e,g,. parents) documents are displayed and clickable?? These seems pretty basic to me but I cant figure it out...

If using NTFS as the filing sytem, yes. Use permissions.

If using FAT32, no. At least not with the tools within Windows XP. A third
party tool that will password protect files and folders could be used.
