Hello,

I just set up a home network between my desktop and notebook computers. I
haven't figured out how to see e-mail messages on both computers. If I open
them from the notebook they do not appear on the desktop. Any thoughts on
what I am wrong and how do I correct it.

Thank you

If you are referring to your ISP's POP3 mail account: When you use your
email program (e.g., Outlook) to view an email, you are actually
downloading the email to your computer. Since the email is no longer on
your ISP's server, you won't see it if you check your mail from another
computer.

You can arrange to leave a copy of your email on your ISP's server. That
way you will be able to see your email from any internet-connected
computer in the world, until you delete it from the mail server.

If you choose to leave a copy of your mail on the server you'll need to
be careful: If you don't eventually delete email from the server, you'll
run out of space and won't be able to receive email. And you can end up
replying to the same email multiple times (and with different responses.)

Your best course of action is to use just one computer for email and/or
to manage email through your ISP's web interface.

How to do what you want depends on what E-mail client you use.
Somewhere in its setting should be the choice to leave the messages on
the server, rather than the default of deleting them from the server
when you get them. Turn that on on both computers, and the messages
will be available for the other computer to get.

Personally I have that setting on my laptop, but not my desktop. You
can choose whether you want it on just one or both.

Also depends to a certain extent on what type of mail account.
Imap can be usefull in these type of scenarios
